What are Time Trials?

Rallycross competitions can be time trials or bracket double elimination. The time trial events involve solo driving on grass or dirt and can be considered “autocross on the dirt.” As with autocross, the emphasis is on driver skill and handling rather than absolute speed. With frequent corners, speeds are generally kept below 50 mph. In many ways, rallycross is to rally racing as autocross is to road racing. Time trials level the playing field for each driver by utilizing its own set of car classing and rules.

StatelineRallyCross has made significant investments and built a hose trigger timing system with software that updates to drivers’ smart phones for the most up to date lap times in the sport. These times can also be viewed online remotely by friends and family.

Once again demonstrating that it is a next level racing company, StatelineRallyCross got rid of time trial penalties and orange cones by incorporating stage rally style course markers. These course markers reduce the need for drivers to use their off time on the course shagging cones.
